What a marvellous printer Canon have manufactured, it seems to be everything someone would nee

d in a printer, and it’s not too big but there again not small either but is perfect in every way possible.

It looks to be a very plain printer, not attractive, just looks like a black box, until the on button is clicked and an 88mm LCD display pops up and you get Blackpool illuminations in your room when the touch buttons appear in front of the LCD screen. It simply is marvellous!

Under the lid of the printer is a fold down front panel which becomes the output tray, and just below that is a 150 sheet paper cassette, but there is also a second 150 sheet paper tray at the rear of the printer where you can insert photo paper/card instead of the hassle of always chopping and changing making sure you have the right number of sheets for the print you’re doing. There’s is a third compartment which is for the CD/DVD printing.

On the right hand side is another flap which can be opened which allows you access to three memory card slots adding Compact Flash to SD and memory sticks, under these is a USB/PictBridge socket for instant printing from your camera. You can simply scan the pictures in by removing the white reflector under the scanner lid and using the transparency adaptor to scan in slides or negatives, which are at a resolution of 4800 x 9600ppi.

The other functions of this printer is the wireless connection which is pretty great as it gives the access to a wide range of print technologies including the PIXMA Cloud Link which uses Google Cloud Print, and Airprint for the iPad, iPhone and so on.

Simply quite marvellous….Can it make a good cuppa too? Unfortunately this is expecting too much, possibly in the future of technologies!
