This printer has got all the features you would expect you can print, scan, copy and fax and you can also print direct to CD/DVD media.

It is completely you can share and print wirelessly it is compatible with Microsoft and Mac you can also print from and scan to using Apple Air print.  It is compatible with both Microsoft and Mac

The scanner is a high resolution of 2400×4800dpi.

It has two front loading paper holders one holds 250 pages the other can hold 20 sheets of the photo paper.  It also has double sided printing this helps to reduce costs of paper.

The fax machine can be in colour or black and white there is also an option so you can choose what print quality you would like.

Print quality is very good as you would expect from a canon printer,  it is clear even when using fast mode it is lighter but you can still have a clear print. It is a 5 cartridge system so when one cartridge runs out you just have to replace that cartridge.

The ink comes in standard size and XL cartridges but for the heavy user there is an optional XXL Black ink cartridge is available.

A few gripes when looking at this inkjet multi function printer, it is bigger than most printers in Canons range, if space is at a premium this would probably be a problem and also there is no touch screen and no memory card reader although it does have a USB port.

Overall this printer has everything you need in a multifunction printer.  It gives a good performance for a printer in its price range £135* It is a little slower than its counterparts but it is good value for the money and as a full range of features appealing to the home user or small businesses.

-          Have your printer model number to hand you can find this on the front of your printer or in your instructions

-          Or have the cartridges to hand that you have ordered previously. You can also find what cartridges are compatible with your printer from your printer manual.

-           You can search on our website in a few different ways.  You can either select the tabs and in three steps you can get your printer model number. Start with your printer manufacturer and then your printer series and then your model number.

-          If you cannot find your printer series, when you put in the manufacturer all of the printers are listed underneath for the manufacturer selected. You can also search in the box which says Enter cartridge or printer model number.  To search just input the manufacturers name a space and then the printer model number you will get a list on the left in  blue when you click on your printer model number at this stage make sure it is the correct one.

-          Some printer  model numbers have letters after them and when you look on the list and it does not show this when this happens in this instance click on the printer model number and when the cartridge list is showing, confirm that these are the cartridges you require.

-          You can also search by just the cartridge number for example you have an HP 27 cartridge input in the search box to do this make sure there is a space in-between the manufacturers name and the cartridge number the cartridge should be listed

Toshiba E Studio 306LP/RD30

This printer set up is in two separate parts one is the printer 306LP the other part RD30 This removes the toner cartridge from a printed document so you can reuse the paper over and over again. It is the first printer combination to do this.

It can do this by using a special toner put in the Printer itself then  when the paper is put through the RD30 it heats  the toner  to a high temperature and deletes the toner colour from the page.

It also copies the documents in a digitised format before you delete it so you still have a copy available.

The printer itself also has a lower carbon foot print as it will be made out of bio plastics (plastics that are bio gradable)

In eco terms this is a great saving of resources, paper that would normally be either filed away or destroyed is being reused. We may not have a paperless office but this will reduce the bulk of paper that is stored.

My favourite site is www.madebyjoel.com the nativity printable is great and easy to assemble.  There is also a printable mini paper city of Paris which is great for stocking fillers.

The Kodak Hero 7.1 managed to win the 2012 PC advisor awards…..it’s got to be pretty good right?

It has a print resolution of up to 9200 x 1200 dpi, for perfectly crisp text and graphics. It only takes two cartridges, one black and one colour and is a very quick picture which also means printing lab-quality photos is an easy job for this printer.

It’s not only WiFi but it also has Google Cloud printing which means you can print from emails, attachments from your mobile whilst you’re at home, work, shopping etc. It does also contain a memory card slot which can take an SD/SDHC/MS/MMC which means them favourite snaps of yours can be printed in minutes.

Featuring a 3.5-inch colour touch preview screen, a separate photo tray and Smart Sense Technology which provides useful notifications on how long a print job will take….Impressive I must say.
