What do you prefer; talking to a human? Or using technology?

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

We find with technology becoming more popular and the variety of technology increasing a high number of orders are placed online as oppose to talking to a human, but there again some people still enjoy the human voice when placing an order.

With the older generations finding it difficult to come to terms with changing technology they still pick the phone up and dial the old fashion way to place an order, we try and encourage online ordering and explain that it is a quicker process as you are learning them how to go through online processes and helping them progress with technology in their life; it is a much cheaper process as we have a premium line which does cost where as using the internet will be cheaper through the package you have on you internet and with broadband the speed is more efficient.

When using the online process this is the exact same process as over the phone including the payment system which is 100% secure and we find this is why people do not want to put the details in online, but is the phone line 100% secure? In my opinion online is much safer as the banks have an extra security called ‘3D secure banking’ and they only allow certain attempts on this before they class it as suspicious.

Is the website clear or is it difficult to understand?

How would you rate a website; clear enough, hard to understand, half and half, easy?

Most companies chop and change the design of their websites and they always get constant feedback as to what looks good, what works well, what doesn’t work, colour scheme doesn’t match and much more, but for the companies that are selling products, do they make their website clear enough?

For Cartridge Discount we do find customers order incorrectly and blame the set up of the website but we find ourselves it is quite efficient as we supply two different search methods which customers can use to look for the products they need but we still get the odd customer supplying us with negative feedback due to the search – Enter cartridge or printer – as when using this it’s like anyone using a search engine, it does not bring up the exact match to your search it brings up the closest match and this is when customers assume it is the exact correct match for them.

I do understand some websites are difficult to understand and that customer services aren’t always online or the phone is busy but there will always be a way to know if you are getting the correct product or if the information you are reading is correct for you.
