How do I stop my printer from printing blank pages? If you printer has started printing blank pages, don’t be surprised, it is a common problem which occurs from time to time. Step 1. Clean the Print Head The print head can become clogged due to frequent usage. Therefore, the ink will not be able to get out of the cartridge and the printer will produce blank pages. The solution to this problem is to clean the print head. You can do this using a clean damp cloth and gently wipe the print head over. Step 2. Check the cartridge isn’t empty If step 1 does not work, your next step should be to check if there is any ink in the printer cartridge. You might be giving a command for a high resolution printout, but the ink might not be enough for such a purpose. Keep an eye out for printer prompts warning you about low ink levels. Step 3. Install the correct printer driver If you are downloading a printer driver direct from the internet, you might accidentally download the wrong driver. This will result in the computer not recognising the printer and the result will be blank pages. Step 4. Check for appropriate paper size Another area you need to check is the paper size. You must check the page setup dialog box whether you have selected the settings that are in tune with the paper size that is being used for the printing. Step 5. Check the operations If none of the above solve your blank page problem, you will need to have your printer looked at by a printer technician, as there could be a technical fault.
